Krista Bower- Owner and Director
Krista Bower has served as Owner and Director of the Yazoo City School of Dance since 2006. She enjoys teaching students of all ages to appreciate dance. Krista has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Jacksonville University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from Belhaven University. She is the Chair of the Dance Department at Belhaven University and is a co-founder of Front Porch Dance, a contemporary dance company based in Jackson. In addition to her roles as an educator, choreographer, and performer, Krista served as the Dance School Administrator for the 2014 and 2010 USA International Ballet Competition Dance School and Teacher Training Program in Jackson, MS. Krista was awarded Performing Arts Fellowships from the Mississippi Arts Commission in 2016 and 2011, and she was selected as one of "Mississippi's 50 Leading Business Women" in 2013.
Grace Neff- Dance Instructor
Grace Neff is a multifaceted dancer from Columbia, South Carolina, who danced at South Carolina Christian Dance Theater from the age of five until she graduated high school in 2019. Grace graduated Magna Cum Lauda with dance honors from Belhaven University in 2023 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She has trained extensively in modern and ballet, as well as studying jazz, tap, pointe, improvisation, dance history, and kinesiology. Grace has performed in works by Mia Whitehead, Kellis Oldenburg, Stella Almblade, Vincent Hardy, and Frankie Lee Peterson III, and was a member of the dance ensemble for the Belhaven theater production of the Wizard of Oz (2022). Grace worked as gel crew, assistant stage manager, and stage manager while at Belhaven University and has stage managed two shows for Kinetic Etchings Dance Project. She worked as the Box Office Assistant for the 2023 USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi. Grace has taught dance and performed internationally in five countries outside of the United States.
